In Loving Memory of our dear friend and colleague Mr. Wahid Parvanta

To him we belong, and verily to him do we return

We, at the Embassy of Afghanistan in London, are extremely saddened to hear about the passing of Mr. Wahid Parvanta, and offer our heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, and well-wishers.

Mr. Parvanta served as an Honorary Cultural Attaché to the Embassy of Afghanistan in London for almost 20 years.

Mr. Wahid Parvanta 1940-2020

Mr. Parvanta was a true Afghan, who came from an intellectual and well-known family in Afghanistan. His father was known for collection of books and researches in Afghanistan. He has been a significant contributor to the efforts of the Embassy for preservation of cultural heritage and values. His long-standing and extensive connection with historians, researchers and those who knew Afghanistan helped recovery and repatriation of ancient artefacts including 47 cult coins to Afghanistan. He has served many Afghan diaspora members in the UK with their reintegration and settlement programs.

He was a considerate and well-respected man, who touched hearts of many of us with his nostalgic stories of Afghanistan.

He will be missed, and his memories will be cherished.
