International Physical Disability World Cricket Series

Summary: Ambassador Jawad attends the International Physical Disability World Cricket Series at the University of Worcester. 

Ambassador Jawad was invited by the Vice-Chancellor Professor David Green of the University of Worcester to attend a celebratory lunch of the forthcoming Disability Cricket Tournament, in which Afghanistan is represented by its national team. Ambassador Jawad congratulated the Afghan national team and expressed his immense pride in the team for overcoming the tremendous physical and social challenges in the pursuit of their aspiration. Created by the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), the tournament helps to reduce stigma and discrimination associated with disability. Through sports, it is intended to shift community attitudes about persons with disabilities by highlighting their skills and aptitudes.
